The first study we found was carried out in 1987 in Yugoslavia… this particular study was carried out on female test subjects.

There is limited information regarding the actual length of the trial or the amounts given to the test subjects.

What we do know is that the scientists did discover that all test subjects experienced a significant reduction in Luteinizing Hormone (LH) – a precusor to testosterone production…

Although the test subjects on this occasion were female, the results did show a noticeable reduction in LH.. something that would have more of an impact of male patients

The Second Trial involved male subjects – 9 test subjects and 6 control for their research…

In the test subjects, they administered 500mg of L-Dopa – something that caused the levels of LH to reduce in 7 of the 9 test subjects

Study #3

The Final Study was carried out in Japan in 1995…

Researchers carried out tests on Wistar lab rats to determine the effects on L-Dopa on Their LH levels

It was discovered that serum testosterone levels in the treated rats increased significantly and

that LH levels also increased ( the opposite to the other trials)….

The dose in this trial was however much larger at 1000mg per KG of bodyweight…

Similar results were not forthcoming when the dosage was reduced to 200mg, 100mg and 20mg per KG.

The general feeling was that larger doses of L-Dopa could have a direct effect on increasing LH levels..

Something that in turn is proven to increase natural testosterone production.

Side Effects Of L-Dopa Supplementation

There are some potential for side effects, especially with larger doses.. these can include:

  • Nausea
  • Hypertension
  • Hairloss
  • Arrythmia
  • Narcolepsy
  • Vivid Dreams and Hallucinations

There is a general feeling that more human studies are required before the true effect of L-Dopa on testosterone levels is fully understood.

\But if the results of the last and most recent trial are to be believed, and if a safe yet effective dosage can be established (bearing in mind the possible side effects).
