PRWEB March 26th 2014
In just a few days a second lawsuit has been lodged in Pennsylvania state court on behalf of a man who claims that prescription testosterone treatment Testim left him with serious cardiovascular problems.
The report – in the Digital Journal tells us that the plaintiff used the low testosterone treatment for a year before suddenly suffering a heart attack..
It is claimed that the manufacturers (Auxilium Pharmaceuticals INC) knew about the possible risks associated with Testim.
The risks linked to this product include Deep Vein Thrombosis, Pulmonary Embolism, Myocardial Infarction and Cerebrovascular Accident – all potential causes of sudden death
Testim is a topically applied gel widely advertised for the treatment of low testosterone symptoms such as reduced libido, poor energy levels, increased body fat and other signs of ageing.
The complaint alleges that Testim carries unacceptable risks to its users, the information about these being withheld from doctors and users.
This and many other cases follow an announcement by the FDA that it has started a review of prescription gel based testosterone therapies after two studies showed the possibilities of heart and other serious side effects.
